Program Lead / PM :
Mission:
Own the concept‑to‑prototype phases of the hoard, delivering on schedule and within budget. Manage vendor relationships and contracts, ensure risk and compliance gates are met, and coordinate cross‑disciplinary teams to meet hardware and software milestones.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead program phases from concept through prototype, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
- Negotiate and manage vendor statements of work (SOWs) and ensure deliverables align with project goals.
- Maintain and communicate the project roadmap, budget, and risk register; coordinate inter‑workstream handoffs.

Optics & LSC/Perovskite (lead: Optics/LSC Engineer):
Mission:
Design and optimize light‑harvesting and transparent materials to maximise optical collection while meeting transparency targets. Deliver efficiency and transmission curves that inform power and UI teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Model, prototype, and characterise LSC/perovskite structures and 3D optical elements to harvest light at high transparency.
- Develop edge‑coupled photovoltaic (PV) components and guide light through the window structure; provide performance curves to the power and software teams.
- Select and test optical coatings (anti‑reflective and IR‑selective) and couplers.
- Collaborate with the power and display teams to align optical performance with energy needs and user‑experience requirements.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to scale materials and processes.
Qualifications:
- Background in materials science, optics, or photonics; hands‑on spectrophotometry.
- Proficiency in optical simulation tools such as Zemax or LightTools.

Display & Interactivity (lead: Display & Interactivity Engineer):
Mission:
Deliver a daylight‑readable, interactive display embedded in the glass, integrating transparent projection/OLED technologies with accurate multi‑touch and PDLC backdrops.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and integrate projection films, transparent OLED displays, touch foils, and PDLC layers; calibrate brightness, contrast, and colour.
- Design projection and optical geometries, optimise gain and contrast for daylight readability, and ensure lamination compatibility.
- Implement large‑format PCAP touch systems; tune multi‑touch response and gesture recognition.
- Incorporate PDLC as a switchable backdrop for privacy or contrast enhancement.
- Collaborate with the UX team to ensure hardware supports intended gestures and with suppliers to meet safety and lamination standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in display integration for transparent or embedded systems.

Power & Embedded (lead: Embedded/Power Engineer):
Mission:
Design the energy‑harvesting and power‑management system that provides stable power rails and telemetry. Develop MPPT strategies, battery/supercap policies, and firmware to support reliable operation and UI telemetry.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and DC‑DC converters; manage LiFePO₄ batteries and supercapacitors.
- Develop firmware for telemetry and power management; provide secure boot and update mechanisms.
- Ensure stable power rails and define policies for charge/discharge, battery health, and lifetime.
- Address EMI/EMC issues and collaborate with hardware and AI teams on power optimisation algorithms.
- Support board bring‑up and lab testing; liaise with compliance teams to meet safety and EMC requirements.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in embedded systems and power electronics; experience with MCUs (e.g., STM32, RP2040).

Mission:
Architect and deliver the cloud and data platform that powers the hoard’s IoT ecosystem. Design a scalable, secure platform that ingests telemetry, stores and transforms data, provides observability and analytics, and remains cost‑efficient.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop a data platform strategy aligned with product and business objectives
- Design and implement scalable data infrastructure (IoT Core tenants, data lake, Timestream schemas) with robust governance and quality controls.
- Establish observability, monitoring, and cost‑control guardrails; ensure high availability and performance.
- Mentor and lead the data platform team; evaluate technologies and tools.
- Collaborate with AI, UX, and product teams to deliver data for decision‑making and analytics; ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience architecting and managing cloud‑native data platforms; deep knowledge of AWS or equivalent services.

Mission:
Build and maintain data pipelines and storage systems to deliver high‑quality data for analytics and AI. Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across the lakehouse.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain feature pipelines to collect, clean, and transform large datasets.
- Implement and manage scalable storage solutions (data lakes, warehouses) and enforce data governance and quality standards.
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, and third‑party sources; monitor and optimise pipeline performance.
- Collaborate with data scientists, AI, and platform teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable data.

Mission:
Lead AI and optimisation efforts to deliver ambient UI, gesture recognition, forecasting, and battery/EV scheduling with resilient offline behaviour. Define KPIs and oversee end‑to‑end MLOps processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and deploy on‑device AI models for gesture detection, ambient readability, time‑series forecasting, and demand‑response optimisation.
- Develop battery and EV scheduling algorithms and demand‑response/VPP optimisation strategies.
- Define performance and user‑experience KPIs; build MLOps pipelines for training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Ensure models function reliably offline and securely; oversee data privacy and compliance.

Mission:
Normalise and integrate energy‑management protocols such as SunSpec, DLMS/COSEM, OCPP 2.0.1, and OpenADR. Deliver connectors and dashboards that enable seamless data exchange across devices and services.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement protocol adapters for SunSpec, DLMS/COSEM, OCPP 2.0.1, and OpenADR; maintain and extend them as standards evolve.
- Define MQTT‑5 taxonomy and policies; develop AWS IoT Greengrass components and routing rules.
- Design and maintain dashboards and asset models to visualise and manage distributed energy resources.
- Ensure secure communications using X.509/mTLS; support data governance and compliance.
- Collaborate with AI and cloud teams on data models and APIs; document and test connector implementations.
Qualifications:

Secure the hoard’s cloud and device infrastructure by managing PKI and certificate lifecycles, implementing secure OTA updates, ensuring comprehensive logging and audits, and aligning with IEC 62443 / IEC 62351 / NISTIR 7628 standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain PKI, mTLS, and identity‑access management for devices and cloud.
- Design and manage certificate lifecycles and secure boot/OTA mechanisms.
- Build and oversee an observability stack (OpenTelemetry, SIEM) and create logging/audit policies.
- Define SBOM/SLSA processes to secure the software supply chain and manage cost/performance guardrails.

- Translate wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs into responsive UI components.
